New Point and Shoot Camera

Tonight I finally bought a new camera. My old HP R817 is duct taped together and the battery dies after about 40 pictures. I've been watching cameras and the new models for the last 3 or 4 months; I finally said the heck with it and bought one. Its a Canon A720IS and after a few shots tonight it seems pretty good. Definitely at my price point, <$200, but still with a ridiculous number of options and manual controls. You can even buy add on lenses for it (almost as expensive as the camera).

Decided to take some family shots first...

ISO 80; with flash; auto aperture.

ISO 400; with flash; auto aperture. (I think there was a focus alert on this picture)

ISO 800; no flash; auto shutter speed and aperture.

ISO 1600, no flash; auto shutter speed and aperture.

ISO 200, no flash; auto shutter and aperture, macro focus. Set at 1/20s and f2.8. IS (Image Stabilization) ON. Pretty impressive how sharp considering it was just simply handheld, not even bracing by arms.

Cool. And I assume that it's about as big as a packet of cigarettes, making it terrific for taking anywhere you go.

Canon has the BEST point and shoots, no doubt.
