Beach Day part II

And we had a fun time with cousin Nathan, Aunt Tracy, and Uncle Steven.

Beach Day part I

Great beach day at TOBAY Beach on Long Island.  Low 80's, light breeze, not a cloud in the sky.

Congrats To Karen

After months of preparing and studying, Karen was Bat Mitzvah'd today. She definitely peaked! Her best Torah reading yet on the day that mattered. It was especially nice to have a bunch of family and friends at the service and then our family our for dinner to celebrate together.

Not your traditional celebration for a 13 year old, but our dinner at Wildfire in Tysons was delicious :-)

Jacob Roller Blades

Grandma and Grandpa visited today. They also hit Toys R Us and some other places to load the kids up with their birthday presents. Jacob's were these roller blades. I thought he would have a real hard time with them; he is not always the most coordinated. But, he was incredible for a first time effort.

His first go at it:

Mother's Day And Soccer

We had a nice mother's day breakfast at IHOP and then exchanged presents back at home. We rode some bikes and tried to get a kite flying (no real luck) then off to Soccer (and I played my first softball later in the afternoon) ...

I was lucky to get a great goal from Jacob on video.

Faith also played (played maybe pushing it). She did kick the ball 3 times!.

Reuben played well too, but I think the coach told him to play defense which I didn't understand. I was helping Faith get ready so missed the start of Reuben's game. When I got there and I yelled for him to follow his kick of the ball, he told he was supposed to stay on his goal's side of the center line. Not sure he really understood the coach, but she didn't correct him either.

The Value Of Money... and more vacation

Reuben is starting to understand money and what it means to earn money. Today on his own he cleaned up the shed and then asked if I would give him money for it. He did a great a job and I gave him a dollar!

Now on to more vacation pictures. Here are some pictures from our first day in Orlando hanging out at the hotel. I wasn't around and these pictures are from Karen. I arrived in Orlando sick as a dog and was sleeping it off. I felt much better the next day at Sea World.

From One Thing To Another...

Busy day! 9:00am Sukkah team #1 started our morning effort of constructing 3 Sukkahs (mine and two others). Pretty much like what I did last year.

Meanwhile Karen, my Mom, our kids, and two other families went to the Plains, VA to a big pumpkin patch. All seemed to have a grand time, though Faith was said to be screaming the whole time they were lost in the corn stalk maze. Only upon exiting to say "that was fun."

Then in the afternoon my Uncle David and Aunt Kathy came by for nice visit and dinner.

Painting Party

Karen's teacher instincts took over today when a lot of neighborhood kids wandered by. Let's have a painting party!!! Also will provide some needed artwork for our soon to built Sukkah for 5769.

Saturday Softball

A very busy Saturday. I had makeup softball games this morning, so I took all the kids with me along with Grandma and Grandpa. I think the kids really gave Grandma and Grandpa work out as they played a long time on the soccer field while my team got spanked in both games.

.

And just so you know, this was a nice clean line drive for single and an RBI!

Some Family Gift Giving

Several of the grandparents are here this weekend for the blowout triple birthday party tomorrow. So before the hoopla, we opened some of Faith's family presents as well as a few early gifts for the boys.

A great big box with Minnie from Uncle Mark and Aunt Jessica.

Andrea sent Faith a beautiful purse filled with makeup. Faith LOVED it.

Of course what birthday could pass without princess gloves.

General chaos!

And the bugs.... We've been watching these caterpillars grow on our kitchen table for almost a week now. So today the boys opened their butterfly house.

Vacation Look Back - Part 4 (The Beach)

We went to a great little beach right next to Briny Breezes, called Gulfstream beach. The sand is starting to erode, so hopefully the replenish the beach soon.
