Hitting The CCT Accotink Creek Trail

Now that boys have bikes with gears I figured it was time for a trail. I found an access point to the cross county trail about 5 minutes from our house that we could ride to via local roads.

We had a great time. About 2 hour round trip with some breaks mixed in.

A Perfect Night For A BBQ

It was such a beautiful evening that on my way home I stopped off to pick up some hamburgers and hot dogs.... and some watermelon!

Karen is off in Florida, we missed her at our fun dinner.

Made It To New Mexico

We arrived late last night, after midnight east coast time.  Kids were great travel companions, sleeping on the plane. 

Everyone but me is off for a walk. I'm lounging in the yard. Later today we take the tram up the mountain you can see in background. 

Movies From Another Cold Spring day

Little League game was cancelled today due to a wet field. Maybe for the best since Jacob has a fever and will be in again tomorrow. So what is there today...

Later faith and Reuben went outside to play all bundled up. Faith is really becoming a good bike rider. A new bike is in her future as a 7 year old.

Afterwards, Faith and I ride our bikes to and from the park.

A Day In NYC

Thought it was about time the kids saw Manhattan!
So we packed up on Tuesday and hit the road. We stayed the night in Pelham with Steven (my youngest brother) and Tracy. Mark (younger brother) and Jess met us in the city on Wednesday. So all of us were tourists for the day in Manhattan. All the cousins spent much of the day together and each in their own way were in awe in aspects of the city. A lot of fun.
This morning we headed back home.

Hanukkah is here

Quick Update on our Halloween evening.

Back From St. Louis

      With Boeing Defense HQ in St Louis, I'm now on my third trip to St Louis in last couple of months. This time I finally got to see the Arch! Had a couple of hours to kill before my flight and it was only 20 minutes from Boeing. Very cool to see close up. Even bigger than you think. Next up a Cards game; may need to wait until next season...

Last Days At The Pool

Labor day is almost here. After some more yard work we hit the pool for a little playtime. Hope to go back tomorrow.

Congrats To Karen

After months of preparing and studying, Karen was Bat Mitzvah'd today. She definitely peaked! Her best Torah reading yet on the day that mattered. It was especially nice to have a bunch of family and friends at the service and then our family our for dinner to celebrate together.

Not your traditional celebration for a 13 year old, but our dinner at Wildfire in Tysons was delicious :-)

More Pool and Fireworks

Faith is now adventurous at the pool with some real good jumping.


And Reuben had a knack for walking (and running) on water.



Then it was time for fireworks. Each kid picked out a fountain and it buy one get one free! Jacob's was the grand finale.

Happy Independence Day - One Day Early

For some reason Fairfax City is celebrating July 4th on July 3rd this year! We go with the flow, so the kids and I went to the parade.

Meanwhile Karen went to synagogue for final practicing for her Bat Mitzvah next week. Five adults are getting Bar/Bat Mitzvah'd next week after having taken a class for most of this year.
