All the kids are a bit under the weather with Reuben leading the pack with Strep. So far the others are clean of the infection but are still a little sick. Perfect day for some arts and crafts.

Visit to American History Museum

The American History Museum recently reopened in DC after a two year renovation. Place looks great, but we really only made it through a few exhibits. After having lunch the place got packed. Big lines for every exhibit including Dorothy's ruby slippers (which we will have to go back to see). Fortunately, C3P0 was on display on our way out in the front so we ended on an up note.

No jackets, sun shining, bikes out, steaks on the grill... must be February!

Well the steaks had to settle for the broiler as I was out of propane.

Poker Night

 
Last night was my approximately yearly poker night tournament with the Dads from our pre-school. And, this year I was the big winner!! As in previous years' events , buy-in was $36 with lots of beer and Scotch to drink. Very fun night with about 16 players, most of them regulars. My winning was probably less skill and more luck than anything; I had pretty good cards the whole night. Fortunately, I played those hands well. After 8 players were eliminated (4 from each table) I had far and away the biggest stash of chips, which gave me a big a advantage when moving onto the winner's table. Now I gotta start drinkin' :-)
