Kids Perspective

I brought my old camera with us on the cruise and gave to the kids each day to use. Got some interesting perspective... Yes they liked the cookies :-)

Cruise day 7 and Home

Just back from the west coast on a business trip; hardly time to recover from vacation! So here is the wrap up of the last days on the ship. It was a full day at sea back home and then disembarkation the next morning. for us it was really afternoon as we were almost the last number to be called to leave.

And of course I can't forget the getting ready for dinner song...

Cruise Day 5 and 6

Back to a beach on Carnival's private island. Great time. Then a visit to Freeport, a few trinkets, then back to the pool onboard. We also had our second formal night. We took some nice family portraits that we bought. I'll post samples another day.

More from the Cruise - Sea Day and Grand Turk

This cruise was very low key as to itineraries which was perfect for us. We had 2 days at sea followed by essentially beach days at Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay (Carnival's private Bahama island). Then we had a short stop at Freeport, another sea day and then back at Baltimore. Kids loved the days at sea and the beaches.

Karen and I were very impressed with the food; all good quality and prepared well. Very enjoyable dining experience. We ate dinner in the formal dining room each night at our own table. Most mornings we also ate in the dining room. Service for breakfast was a little more haphazard but still OK. Lunch we usually had on the Lido deck, buffet station style. Most of it was very good. The grill's hamburgers were especially good. The 24 hour pizza parlor was there too... stay away from the mushroom goat cheese pizza.

Here are some more highlights:

Reuben could spend hours snorkeling...

Faith busting a move at the Disco. Jacob meanwhile won a medal for his dancing later in the party.

Back From Our Cruise

We got back today from a wonderful vacation. We sailed out of Baltimore on the Carnival Pride down to the Caribbean. Super seven days of mostly sun, water, good food, and relaxation. Here are some pictures from coming aboard and then our first day at sea. That second night was formal night and the kids were very excited to get all "fancy".

A little out of sequence is the following movie of us blowing the Conch shell we bought in the Bahamas.

Nice Swim

Been working like a dog finishing a proposal, but today I was able to break away in the afternoon to join some friends at our pool. I was amazed to see how well Faith is now swimming. She is even diving under the water to pick up toys on the bottom. She has really picked up a lot at camp. Swim lessons every day for a few weeks has certainly trumped years of once a week lessons.

Afterward we all came back to our house for a great veggie lasagna that Karen made. It was really awesome.

New Fireman

After breakfast together, I went to work while the kids went to Old Town Alexandria to a festival for a firehouse.
