Diving Practice

The boys started to practice diving in camp this week and then tried out what they learned at our pool. They are really start to get it. The pool was beautiful these past couple of days.

Driveway update...

They couldn't get the stain to budge. So I brought in big gun.  The power washer. Which of course didn't work at first, but after an hour of splicing a new power plug on it kicked in.   Unfortunately, the stain wouldn't budge. 

You know... the stain is starting to grow on me. Looks pretty good as is :-)

Hitting The CCT Accotink Creek Trail

Now that boys have bikes with gears I figured it was time for a trail. I found an access point to the cross county trail about 5 minutes from our house that we could ride to via local roads.

We had a great time. About 2 hour round trip with some breaks mixed in.

Between the parade and the pool the boys managed to squeeze in a tryout of their new bikes.  Jacob has already mastered the skid brake :-)

Faith is still a bit intimidated but she will be out soon.

Saturday Fun

Kids picked out new bikes today. They all went up 4" on the wheel size. Reuben and Jacob to 24" inches and Faith to 20". These are belated birthday bikes. We pick them up tomorrow :-)
When we got back from shopping we quickly to changed to hit the pool for an hour. Then back home for some grilling and some backyard netless badminton!

Hooked On Baseball

Reuben and Jacob are really into baseball. They can play a long time together relatively fight-free pitching to each other.

Of course day we come they end 8 game winning streak.  But it was a great father's Day.

Back for the weekend

I spent last week in St Louis working a proposal. Was hoping to get in at a decent time last night to be fresh for the weekend. Unfortunately my flight was cancelled which then led to the scramble to get out of St Louis that was wracked with delays all around. I finally did make on a different airline; I think the last flight out of St Louis. Got into National airport at 1:15am.
We did have a late morning; got to sleep to about 8:30. Then everyone went to IHOP for breakfast. Leisurely breakfast spent reading the paper... and comics


The kids are still so into baseball. Practicing in the backyard all the time. They wanted to bat so we hit the batting cage for the first time. They did pretty well even though the slowest cage is still a bit faster than their machine pitch league.

More Baseball Practice

Reuben is now determined to try out for the Double AA team in the Fall. If he keeps practicing like this he very may well make it.

Team Pool Party - After The Game

Most of the team met back up about an hour after the game for a pool party at a nearby community pool. Kids had a great time playing with all the other boys on the team. One of the boys brought water shotguns for everyone! Later all the boys moved to the diving board which finally got our boys to try it out. Hopefully they will use at our pool. Though our pool makes you take a swim test before using diving board. Reuben and Jacob can easily pass, but seem to be afraid to ask to take the test.

Late Afternoon Dip

We hit the pool this afternoon around 5pm. It was perfect out. Some clouds had come in, but it made it not too hot. Water was nice and everyone had fun.
