An Almost Uneventful Day

Look at how peaceful the boys are right before bedtime. Little does it imply what is to follow... Shortly after this picture, Jacob had a massive expulsion of vomitus. All over the living room. I think he is feeling better and is bed, but it could be an EVENTFUL night. Posted by Picasa

Lazy Sunday

We had a nice lazy Sunday. The kids played all morning in the backyard. We then hit Taco Bell/KFC for lunch. 'Lo and behold they are all napping!! Road building. Mixing bowl here we come. Break time... Reuben is too busy working to take a break. "I really think its too early for a cease fire in Lebanon." Ahhh. No screaming.... Posted by Picasa Looks like the last update to Picassa Build 32.43.0 has fixed the html references when posting directly to blogger. It cites the bug in the release notes and the html now looks correct.

Play Time

Platime the movie. I took this from my phone. It was bad quality to begin with, but Google even compressed further.

Playful Evening

Jacob can now steer like a pro; up and down the driveways, along the sidewalk, and of course he hops the curbs. Reuben getting some vocational experience; street sweeper. He tried attaching the broom to his bike to make a street sweeper truck, but he couldn't ride it in the configuration he rigged up. Also, on his daily report card from camp it said that he really enjoyed science. Definitely my engineer in the making. Finally, an update on our new feathered friends. One of the brothers pops up to take a peek.

Busy Day

Got up late...7:15 am. Went out for bagels with everyone in the morning and then went to the zoo. As an experiment we parked in differernt lot today. We wanted to park toward the top of the zoo, because we never make that far through the zoo when we start at the bottom. Well, it was pretty crowded and the closest lot still open was the middle lot; lot C. First and last time we park in that lot. Long walk just to get to the zoo and then there is not much around that entrance. We didn't see that much but everyone still had fun. Then I did A LOT of cutting around the front of the house. Trimmed most of the shrubs in the front yard. Since Jacob wasn't napping and since I kept seeing him peeking out his window watching me while he was supposed to be napping, I let him down he helped me clean up. He was a big help and we had a good time. Unfortunately, his lack of napping came back to haunt him later as he stopped listening and was forced to go inside while Faith and Reuben continued to play. Thus no pictures of Jacob. These great pictures were taken by Karen: And finally a funny picture of our neighbor's puppy By the way if you use Picassa, hold off upgrading to version 2.5. There is bug in uploading pictures to blogger; it does not form the html link correctly to the images.

Batting Study

Here is Soriano at bat. You can see the blur of the ball (photo taken with shutter speed only at 1/60 second) coming in. It's about 25 feet from the batter. Soriano is already stepping into the pitch but has already decided to let it go. He will take this pitch for a strike. Posted by Picasa

Go Nats!!

Last night our friends invited us out to the Nationals game. We had a great time. By luck it also turned out to be the grand re-opening of RFK by the new owners of the team. We got free hats and some better concessions. Overall, I like the stadium and am always adequately entertained when I go to a game. The $650M for a new stadium I think is a waste and instead we should focus on how we keep Soriano while we rebuild the team instead of trading him. Nice patriotic beginning. The stadium singing Sweet Caroline in the 7th is now a regular thing. It's pretty fun singing Neil Diamond at the top of lungs with 30,000 other secret Neil Diamond fans. I will need to take my sister-in-law, Jessica, to a game; she's an out of the closet Neil Diamond fan. Bottom of the 8th, Nats down but with the bases loaded... Karen and our good friends and hosts for the evening. Right after the bases loaded picture above the Nats did not disappoint and rallied in the 8th winning the game by 1 run. Posted by Picasa

Camp Guests

Yesterday the boys camp was learning about the mitzvah of inviting guests. So they invited their parents. Karen and Andrea went. It was pretty much an ordinary camp day, except for the guests. And I guess Jacob being the class clown is ordinary. Posted by Picasa

Welcome our new twins

A few weeks ago we noticed a birds nest in our Dogwood tree by the curb of our house. We also saw the two little blue eggs. Well today Karen noticed that the eggs have hatched and we now how have a new set of twins.  Posted by Picasa

Swimming At Our Neighbors

Finally some video from last week showing the kids swimming in our neighbors pool. Check out Reuben, we turned our back and there was Reuben off on his own throughout the pool. Warning this is a long video (5+ minutes) and it doesn't get much more exciting after the first 30 seconds, though there is a nice jump at the end. This is meant for Grandparents, Great and regular Uncle and Aunts, and any other daring souls.

Faith's Doctor's Visit

Could have been a tough day... I came home early this morning (2am) from LA and Karen is in NY. But, the kids were so well behaved all day, only one minor timeout, it was easy. Andrea did help me out this morning, letting me sleep in a bit. We did Mason District park in the morning where we got to see some fish in the pond. Then after naps we played outside, mostly with their tricycles. We all then headed out for pizza. The days of me grabbing an extra slice are over. The 4 of us finished a pizza; 2 slices each. Anyway here a some pictures of Faith's daily physical.  Posted by Picasa

Swimming at our neighbors pool

Our neighbors, Ashton and Terri, have a beautiful pool area. We had a great time swimming there. Reuben was a complete fish. He swam for over an hour without stopping. Here are a few highlights. - Karen Posted by Picasa

Karen's attempt at plant pictures - Botanical Garden

The first 2 are shots of the jungle from the canopy walk. I thought this was a really cool looking flower. Not sure what type of tree is from. Zinnias And I'm not sure what these flowers are.
