New Upperstairs Bathroom Almost Done

Just the sink and counter top left. Counter is supposed to match the granite in the laundry room. Looking to be a very nice bathroom that I think will wind up being mostly for Faith. We'll let the boys pee all over the old bathroom :-)

Happy Father's Day

Great Day... woke up to some nice gifts, including the IOU for a new grill. We even went to Home Depot after a nice breakfast at IHOP. Then later we met up with our cub scout pack at the Nationals Game. A very fun time despite the loss. The kids and I even got to run the bases... sorry no Mommies allowed on Father's Day :-)

First Day At The Pool

I took the kids to the pool this afternoon. Perfect day for it. Very relaxing and fun place. The boys are swimming well, and Faith is even now swimming a little; maybe 10 feet or so. Everyone had a good time.

Remote Office

Last week I was in Texas, about 30 minutes from Dallas. I was out working a proposal for a company out there. The problem with these proposals is that you go out as the subject matter expert, but you have no resources (people and data) easily accessible - they are all back at home. The internet has made things a lot better, but most of my work is done in secure spaces without access, so still not easy. So, this week my office away from home became the local McDonalds! Good coffee. Good yogurt. Good egg burrito. Free Wifi. And no one bothers you. And bonus... look how nice this McDonalds was, three chandeliers :-) Anyway I wound up spending mornings there working with folks back East and doing some of my own work before heading into our customers facility. If I was in Dallas any longer I was going to bring some family pictures for my table!

Once upon a tie, there was a wizard. The wizard went outside and a witch used magic to cast a spell and make everything dark. So the wizard made everything bright again. The wizard took the witch to jail! The witch started to fight on the way to jail. The wizard and the 7 knights tied her up with a rope. They finally got her to jail.

After the wizard and the 7 knights left there, the witch used her magical powers to destroy the jail and escape! Then the wizard and the 7 knights came back. They saw that they witch had destroyed the jail. They found her by using a magic rope. The wizard put in on the ground and the witch stepped in it and the witch magically came to the wizard and the 7 knights.

Then the wizard cast a spell and turned the witch into a tree! They all lived happily ever after.

Faith lost her 3rd tooth

today at dinner. We think she swallowed it. I guess the tooth fairy will come anyway.

Fairfax Fair

Great time at the fair today. Kids are starting to really enjoy the rides. Faith and Reuben loved the little Caterpillar roller coaster, while Jacob was Mister daring doing the big Swing several times.
We went with Ken and Amanda. Amanda is the real dare devil getting Jacob and Reuben to join her on Crazy Mouse, the big kids roller coaster (still pretty small). Reuben got off and told me "I am never going on the Crazy Mouse again". Though he was laughing while he said it.

Reuben's School Play

Reuben was a bee in his school play all about pollen and the garden. He did a great job though he complained about his pink fairy wings.

Laundry Room Almost Done

Our new upstairs laundry room is almost done. A few filler cabinet pieces, some caulking, and a couple of odds and ends and we will have a completed room. Next up the upstairs new bathroom :-)

Karen is in heaven with the new machines and especially them being upstairs. She is now better than the cleaners, in by 5p and next day service :-)

Happy Birthday Tipper

What a great dog!  She laid there for nine pictures until I got one I liked :-)

Tipper is 9 years old today.   The fur on her ears are turning gray,  but in most respects she still has the spirit of a puppy.   Best of all she is first to give me a hug and a kiss when I get home from work.   She wraps her paws around my neck and then plants a wet one :-)

Jacob Roller Blades

Grandma and Grandpa visited today. They also hit Toys R Us and some other places to load the kids up with their birthday presents. Jacob's were these roller blades. I thought he would have a real hard time with them; he is not always the most coordinated. But, he was incredible for a first time effort.
