Basketball - Hey a close game!

Kids played great. Lots of shots, good defense. Reuben score 4, Jacob had an assist and some other great passes. Reuben was even selected to the All Star team! Finally a good game to really cheer about.

Reuben's fast break... ignore the double dribbles :-)

And then his two free throws

Purim Fest!

I took three bats to the reading of the book of Esther! Crazy party, but lots of fun. Without Karen, I was a bit worried about handling all three kids by myself but they were great and had a lot of fun. I did too!

Reuben or Jacob took the above picture
Guess I do look a bit worn :-)
Jacob took this of the lonely bugs bunny

One of the parades around the room...

Peek-a-boo

With Karen gone for the weekend, Tipper has been very clingy; following me around all over. She also nows when she's being funny and waited for me to get my camera for this pose :-)

Maryland Science Center (Baltimore Inner Harbor)

Yesterday we met several friends up at the Science museum in Baltimore. Most of them are regulars to the museum, but it was our first time. We were there from 11-5; we got our money's worth and everyone liked.
Afterwards 11 of us met at Bertuccis in Columbia for dinner. Didn't get home until about 9pm. Long day, but fun.

Crazy at the mall!

Trying to see avatar. Mall is jammed packed.  Took 30 minutes to park. Our 8:15 movie was sold out.  Now trying to make sure we get decent seats for 9:15

The Snow Has Ended

Finally!! Started digging out again at 3pm. Kids quickly learned the king of mountain gain on the piles of snow. I think we got another 10", but hard to tell because there were lots of drifts. The wind was still blowing fierce as I shoveled; overall felt brutal!!
But, I should make out tomorrow and be back at the office. Not the kids; school is already closed for tomorrow and Friday. More king of the hill game.

Out for a stroll this morning

Well we finally got plowed this morning at 4am.  They cleared it all down to the pavement with a frontend loader.  Unfortunately you can now hardly tell as the snow continues to fall.

The Big Cleanup

Without any sign of VDOT with plows for our roads, the neighborhood took matters into their hands and started clearing the roads by hand. Our streets our now SUV passable which means I'm still out of luck. Well at the kids are having fun.

Karen and a neighbor went out in her SUV to the store. The Safeway had no eggs or milk. The only fruit were oranges. Luckily we were pretty set on staples. The six pack of beer she picked will come in handy tonight! The two also reported that even the main roads were in horrible shape. Looks like it may be another day at home.

Some stuck in the house cleanup.

It wont be long (well maybe it will be a long time given the snow) until the construction work moves to Reuben's room.  So yesterday I moved the computer and desk from his room to the basement where everyone can more easily share it.  More importantly it frees up space in Reuben's room for the work ahead.

Very Picturesque Morning

Still all buried.
Out our front porch, sun coming up in the East.
Off to sled the big hill. Notice not a plow path in sight. They didn't even do the major community street yet.

Tipper had a great time out with us this morning.

Sledding In The Park

Made the trek to our park to hit the real hill. After a few trials to create a run, we got going pretty good. Unfortunately with all the gloves, the camera got switched to "compact" video mode. Which means the movies came out terrible.

Snow-verkill!!

Here some pictures of us outside this morning, about 10:30am. Measured about 18" inches on the ground and it was still snowing hard. Supposed to let up sometime tonight.

And Tipper enjoying (??) the snow

When the weather outside is frightful

About 20" of snow outside.  Expecting a few more inches, maybe 4-8" more.  Nice and warm inside.

Welcome to Buffalo

Another 5 inches of snow.  And now a BIG storm coming Friday night.  I asked the kids if the snow was getting boring... "No Way"

Contractors did get most of the roof yesterday.  Unlikely we will see them today.

Brick work done!

House construction keeps moving.  Yesterday they moved the side lower window and rebricked it in.  Then they layed all the brick work around the garage.  Really looks good.  Today the roofing is supposed to happen.  Be just in time for the expected 4-6 inches of snow tonight.
