Hotel Review: Garland Radisson (Dallas East)

This week's travel takes me to Garland (Dallas suburb) Texas. After about driving what seemed like 20 miles just to leave the airport we had another 20 miles to go to get to the hotel. At least it should have been 20 miles. After awhile of circling the area looking for the hotel I finally called the receptionist there. I told her where I was and she proceeded to give me directions (we were close). Unfortunately she told me left when it should have been right... After another little bit I called her back and she finally got us to the hotel. Not a good start! Onto the review.
Bed: B
A sleep number bed. Not sure if I'm fan yet as I may have a defective unit. I hit the the button and get the number to about 70, which feels pretty good. A little bit later its feeling a little firm so I go to lower the number, but the control now reads 85. Seems to repeatably overshoot the number quite a bit. Nice sheets and pillows.
Cleanliness: B
Floor and furniture were clean. Walls could you some new paint. Still don't trust the in room coffee maker or non-wrapped glasses. Bathroom pretty clean with nice granite tile shower and granite countertops, but there was some dark stains (maybe mold) on shower grout.
Media: B
Average size TV (25"). Basic cable channels with HBO. Wireless internet, but not that fast.
Breakfast: C
$10 full buffet breakfast. Powdered eggs, bacon, and biscuits. Some fresh fruit and oatmeal.
Towels: B
Nice towels; soft and plush. I'd give an A if they were bath sized and a robe would be nice!
Intangibles: The view below pretty much sums up the area. The sign in the distance (next to the uhaul sign), which is probably unreadable, reads "CONDOMS TO GO". 'Nuff said.
Final Grade: C+

Soccer Success
Reuben, Jacob, and Faith all had soccer games today. They all played great and really enjoyed the games.

September Showers
Bring more flowers. The late summer flowers really loved the rain...

The boys had their first Sunday School today and Karen had a sisterhood brunch this morning. That left me and Faith together all morning. Boy can that girl talk... non-stop chatter. By dinner I had had enough of the chatter but mostly annoyed with her complaining about dinner, so I told her she was an annoying little girl. Her response: "Yeah, I know. I'm just a little a girl who talks and talks." She had me cracking up!

Fast And Furious
Hannah visited us yesterday. That is Tropical Storm Hannah. It was a quick visit, but she left the place a mess especially the basement.

So in the above map our house is near the overlap region of Oakton and Annandale. From what I've seen I think the map is about right with us getting close to 8 inches in about 7 hours.
Our basement flooded again thanks in part to the failure of my new auto sensing submersible pump to sense the water!! I quickly brought my old standby into action and it worked like a charm, just a little too late. The carpet in the basement got wet from underneath, so in areas I've pulled it up and now I just hope dries pretty quick. I think the mold guidance is that if its dry within 72 hours you're pretty safe.

A Day Of Firsts
First morning to play on our new tire swing...
First day of kindergarten for Reuben and Jacob...
And most important the first time Reuben and Jacob had Pho Noodle Soup...
Faith meanwhile had spaghetti.
