Attempting Some Kite Flying
Late this afternoon Reuben suggested we go out and our kites. Great Idea!!! Except that it was freezing (well about 42) and probably too windy. But, we went out and tried anyway. We all had a few seconds of air time with kites and had a blast doing so.

Last soccer game of the season
Today was the end of the season. A great season all around. Everyone improved their play, though a bit a of setback on skills these last two weeks where we didn't have mid-week practices. Most of all I think the whole really likes soccer and I hate to admit, but I had fun coaching.

Sports Sunday
Whew!
Double header soccer games and then ultimate frisbee! It all started...
Today Karen was tied up all day preparing and then having her sisterhood dinner. I didn't see her from 12pm - just before 9pm. Meanwhile right after hebrew school and a quick lunch it was time for the craziness. Soccer games at 2pm and 3pm and then the boys had ultimate frisbee with the cub scouts at 4pm (luckily on the same field as soccer).
Very well played but rough soccer games. Reuben gets the job to play man on man with the other team's best player. This time in both games that player was really physically. Hard to not give Reuben a high five when he flung one of them to the ground (and shook him up a bit) after that kid was being pretty physical with Reuben. Meanwhile Jacob played well with some strong D, a goal, and a couple of assists. Faith was also showing more improvement. Flashed me a big smile when she attacked the ball and got knocked down in the exchange. She also had a couple of shots on goal!! Unfortunately... no pictures as I was too busy coaching. Really fun coaching today with a couple of really nice passes taking place. Kids are actually getting it!
So after the soccer games, the boys had a cub scout meeting. And wouldn't you know it, it was playing ultimate frisbee immediately following soccer on the same field. Boys had a good time and earned a belt loop for ultimate! Faith had fun on the playground equipment, while I stood at mid-point between the playground and the field to watch everyone :-)

Ice Skating
The kids as a group earn money for a family piggie bank. The earn the money by doing their jobs in the morning and at night, like clearing their dishes. This morning they had $28 accumulated (over the course of several months). So, they decided it was time to use it and would take us all out for ice skating.
It was a lot of fun (if you drown out Faith's screaming). By the end of the session, Reuben could make it all around the rink without touching the wall or falling. Jacob was able to a good distance without falling (though I think he liked he falling part). He was very good at taking two steps and then gliding, two steps and then gliding, all the way around (until falling). Hard to tell that Faith liked it between all her screaming and crying as she skated around with me and Karen. But she was pretty good holding my hand going around. In the end she told us she loved it :-) No pictures this week (I left my camera in NY) at Alex's bris and Karen's camera was recharging.
