No More Floods

Two week ago we finally had sump pump installed outside our basement walk-up doorway. Of course it hasn't rained since. Looks like the plumber did a nice job, but truth will be told on the next bigtime storm and see if we avoid this another basement flood

All About Faith (well mostly)

Faith has been enjoying her brother free afternoons (they are in full-day kindergarten). So now Faith has ballet one day, swimming one day, and then some just plain old play days.

Thursday is swimming day and Faith is starting to show some promise...

Face finally in the water!

And her good friend Brandon.

Then today was girls day at our house...

Oh poor Barbie.

And finally just some cool kids we know...

Monthly Get Together

This month our group of friends descended upon chuck cheese at 9am this morning for an early get together. Turned out to be ideal. The kids (ages ranging from 3-8) played while the parent's could talk... And yes Chucky Cheese coffee was not half bad!

I even got Faith to go into the human habitrail on a bribe. She wound up loving it, but I didn't want to make a big deal about it so no pictures.

Another Little Visitor

This little guy was rummaging through the garbage as Karen pulled up in the van. That didn't seem to scare him. Me coming out with a camera finally got him to back off, as I captured his backside as he slowly made his getaway.

Steven, Tracy, and Cousin Nathan Visit Virginia

We had a great time visiting with Uncle Steven, Aunt Tracy, and super cute cousin Nathan. We went into to DC on on Saturday to the building museum (which recently hosted the 'emergency' international economic summit). Then in the afternoon our kids got their Hanukkah gifts from Uncle Steven and Aunt Tracy... A super hit as you can see from the movie.

Steven and Tracy even babysat for us Saturday night, so Karen and I could enjoy dinner out. We went to Sushi-ko in DC, a very well regarded Japanese restaurant in the area. It was very good. We then hit Thomas Sweets in Georgetown for some decadent ice cream. Nice night out even though we back home before 10.

Moon Bounce Adventure

Karen took all the kids to a moon bounce place yesterday in Manassas. All had a good time and it turned out to be a very good plan. At home, where I planned to do some work, we lost power for several hours. Very high winds throughout the area.

Holding steady...

Last year at my annual weigh in I was 198 lbs. Today 198 lbs! So its now been about 2 years holding steady and 2 1/2 years since dropping a little over 30 pounds.

I think the secret for me is getting on the scale daily and not letting things get out of hand. I now know pretty much what I can and can't eat over the course of a week to keep things neutral.

Feeling pretty good and at this point its been pretty easy maintaining. Look for my 23-part DVD guide to "In like a whale, out like a mildly pudgy porpoise"
